Accommodate
About Accommodate
As of Jan. 12, 2026, Athabasca University implemented the accommodation management platform, Accommodate, to simplify the processes for requesting, reviewing, and implementing academic accommodations. This platform was adopted following extensive consultation with students, instructors, staff, and other post-secondary institutions serving students with disabilities.
What is Accommodate?
Accommodate is a web-based platform developed by Symplicity to help manage student academic accommodations efficiently. Why the change?
Improving the accommodation process can significantly enhance students’ academic experience and well-being. Feedback from our stakeholder discovery and survey projects highlighted the need to increase student engagement, reduce delays and manual processes, and improve awareness of accommodations.
How does this impact you?
There is now a single platform to request, view, and process academic accommodations. A secure, single sign-on for students and staff ensures immediate access to accurate information.
Key Accommodate features include a view of your Confirmation of Accommodation letter, secure document upload, accommodation revision and service requests, a modern, accessible interface, and future appointment booking capability.
What do you need to do?
Student profiles are already created in Accommodate—no setup required. Simply log in to the Accommodate platform with your AU email address to view your Confirmation of Accommodation letter, upload medical documentation, or request services and accommodations.
Where can you find help?
We have created videos and instruction guides for students and staff on the Accessibility Services Resources webpage.
